About
Hana Kulovic is a multi-disciplinary artist on a journey of merging her passions for international travel and creating mosaic installations. Hana was born in Bosnia and Hercegovina, and had a multicultural upbringing between Bosnia, Germany, and Chicago, IL. She received a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008, where she focused on Fiber and Material Studies, with a particular emphasis on embroidery.
Hana derives inspiration from ritual craftsmanship and meticulous art practices. Heavily influenced by a combination of culture, patterns in nature, geometry, textiles, and interior design, she assimilates these passions into delicate mosaic designs. Interested in the effect and transformation a site-specific installation may bring to a space and its spirit, Hana specializes in large-scale mosaic murals, accent walls, and mosaic sculpture.
As an Art Educator, Mosaic Artist, and Fiber Artist in Chicago, Hana has enjoyed working with a variety of communities and clientele. She has traveled and lived in various parts of the world, and is passionate about cross-cultural art collaborations. She is currently living and working in Chicago, IL.
